Each category is divided into the following groups according to the participant’s age, educational background, and artistic level:
Participants may only register for one group within the same competition category.
The Age Group is intended for young participants who are not enrolled as full-time students in a professional music university, conservatory, pre-college program, talent program, or equivalent professional music institution.
Participants who are receiving full-time professional music education should register for the Professional Group.
The Professional Group is intended for participants who are currently receiving full-time professional music education.

The Artist Group is open to participants aged 27 and above.
This group is intended for mature musicians, young artists, music teachers, freelance performers, and professional musicians who no longer belong to the regular age groups or professional student groups.
